This shoot was a game changer for me. It was the first time I’d shot a McLaren (that shape still fills me with excitement even today) and also the first time I’d used a strobe (or powerful flash) on a client shoot. I knew that to take my photography to the next level I needed to invest in more lighting, and for the look I wanted to achieve it just had to be a strobe. I wanted to be able to overpower the sun where necessary and create mood and shadow even in bright ambient conditions, so I opted for the Godox AD600BM. It’s one of the best bits of kit I’ve ever invested in and has enabled me to turn my automotive photography visions into reality. Even today I’m incredibly proud of these shots.

I’m very lucky to be part of an automotive photography built through social media which has lead to many great opportunities and allowed me to meet and make contact with extremely talented photographers from all over the world. One of these is Moe Zainal from Bahrain (@moezainal on Instagram), an automotive photographer who also has a YouTube channel. Moe invited me to collaborate on a video with him to show how I lit and edited one of the 720 shots. Check out the video below:

The shots from this shoot were used to form key identity imagery for Azuri Car Care across their social media and also for their brochure. I have to say a huge thanks to them for having me down to shoot – they are some of the most professional and passionate people I’ve ever worked with and their attention to detail is second to none. If you need any detailing, correction or PPF services for your car I’d highlight recommend you get in touch.
